Both management science and operations management are concerned with the efficient use of resources. Operations management, on the other hand, is concerned with the design and management of systems that produce goods and services. Management science is concerned with the application of mathematical and statistical methods to the management of organizations. The two fields are similar in many ways, but there are some important differences.
